Buff recycled Australian clay with Ash glaze on the inside of the piece. Heavy ash and soda landed on the piece creating ash drips with crystals.
This piece was fired in a Catenary wood/soda kiln for 40 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every five to ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The introduction of soda and ash from the burning wood flies through the kiln landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Wheel thrown in my Northern Rivers studio, ideal for your morning tea or coffee. Fired in Jann Kesby's kiln.
