Made from Iron rich Australian stoneware clay with a metallic sheen from the kiln's reduction atmosphere. The inside is glazed with a light orange Shino.
This piece was fired in an Anagama wood kiln for 72 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The ash from the burning wood then flies through the kiln landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Wheel thrown in my Northern Rivers studio, ideal for your first extra large coffee of the day. Fired in the Middle Pocket Anagama.
