White Australian stoneware clay with dark brown clay marbled through. A Shino glaze lines the inside of the piece and the raw clay has been sanded to a smooth finish on the outside
This piece was fired in a Catenary wood/soda kiln for 40 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every five to ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The introduction of soda and ash from the burning wood flies through the kiln landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
