Made from white Australian stoneware clay with an Iron rich slip, peach coloured flashing and small shell marks. The slip used is 'wild clay' which means is was collected from a property in Northern NSW than processed in my studio.
This piece was fired in an Anagama wood kiln for 100 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The ash from the burning wood then flies through the kiln landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Wheel thrown and altered in my Northern Rivers studio, perfect for sushi. Fired in the Arcadia Cooroy Anagama
