Made from beige Japanese stoneware clay with an orange slip overlaid and a cobalt ash glaze.
Ochoko are small vessels used to drink Sake, however this piece would also be perfect for sipping green tea.
This cup was wheel thrown in Sasayama during my three months working in Japan. This piece was Anagama fired for over 60 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The ash from the burning wood flies through the kiln, landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This process makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Microwave and Dishwasher safe however, hand washing is recommended. Approx. 5cm H x 8cm W.
One-off piece, ready to ship.
